Last e-Learning Experiences Post …
e-Learning Experiences is now over and I must say it has been quite an experience. Beginning the subject I thought it would be bludgey because it was just the class doing stuff on the computer. I was wrong. The stuff turned out to be much more demanding than I had expected. Throughout the semester we’ve had to keep updating our technology frameworks. Now I am a self confessed procrastinator and so updating, let alone remembering to update, has been a very challenging task for me. But I managed (the procrastinator still lives on because if you look at the timestamp the weekend is almost over, meaning the assignment is due for submission very soon).
Del.icio.us
I found that throughout the semester I did a lot of reading and in most cases forgot to record the URL and so my del.icio.us is pretty empty. But of what I have bookmarked are resources I have gone through and used to help me along the way. I also started to add bookmarks of my favourite places to eat (check out Wicked Bite – the best restaurant I have ever been to) and links that are relevant to my life outside of uni.
Netvibes
Now I praised this site in one of my earlier posts and I still hold high regard for it. It is still to this day my homepage and is so efficient and easy to use I just love it. My e-learning tab has been updated with some good feeds and links but I must say that I’ve used it more for my own personal benefit than for this subject. The feeds I have included in my e-learning tab relates to the subject as well as to the subject of knowledge management because I found that the two subjects were quite intertwined and because I am doing a knowledge management subject it was a bonus. I also had blogs from commentators on e-learning so as to have links to their resources as well to see how they maintain their blogs. The best feed is perhaps Mark’s del.icio.us feed because that is where I have found most of my resources so far.
Edublogs
What more can I say that I didn’t already say before? I write too much and I feel so sorry for Mark who has to read this and go through my long and tedious posts. I also realized that my layout isn’t perhaps the best one to have gone with but it looks, as Paris Hilton would say, ‘Hot’. It’s been fun blogging and I also discovered the photoslide tool provided by RockYou which you can see on my “About this Blogger’s Friends…” page.
All in all, I’ve had a good time and it has been a great subject. Well facilitated by Mark and very relevant to society today as technology increasingly becomes more embedded in our lives. I look forward to doing e-Learning Design now as we get into the nitty gritty side of the topic.
