In today’s class we brainstormed ideas about what we can blog about throughout the duration of our online courses.

  • Possible topics and selection process
  • Motivation – what factors are driving you as you enter into this particular course?
  • Expectations – What you hope to achieve? – What you anticipate the course will entail in terms of what you are required to do?
  • How will you divide your time?

  • Difficulties/Challenges faced – is it a totally new area for you? Are there technical difficulties? Are you struggling with this mode of learning, how is your pace?
  • Time management
  • Learning outcomes (formative evaluation of learning outcomes – evaluating as you go)
  • Motivation – compare with initial motivation, if your motivation is waning who is to blame?
  • Take a step back and look at the course objectively and evaluate what is good or bad about the course. Strengths and weaknesses of the course

    *use friendliness
    *presentation
    *subject matter
  • Application of learning outcomes/transfer into other scenarios
  • Be creative with your blog. Record yourself saying something in the language. Write a piece in the language. Take a photograph of your process.
    Your blog is a collection of the product and artifacts from your course.
  • Learning outcomes (summative evaluation of learning outcomes)
  • Have you met the learning objectives?
  • Improvements?
  • Has the course met your expectations?
  • Have you developed personally?
  • Improvements to personal learning strategy? How might you alter your own study strategies to learn better?
  • Reflect on your reflections. Go through and reflect on your previous blog posts.
